Darrell:

This is LaVon, and I am writing a note to you so all will know what you are to me. I remember what a beautiful 2 year old you were. And you were beautiful, all blonde hair and engaging smile. I remember you riding your hot wheels down the street with all the other kids, it clicking as you went. I remember your mom calling me to ask if you had been there yet to borrow that cube of butter or cup of sugar......of course, you had not. Who knows where the cup was, but you were off running the boys in the hood again......I remember you and JD swimming in the little pool behind your house and my house, eating at each others house.....I remember so much of those early years..I also remember how proud I was of you when you finished college and were so tall a grown up. I remember how thankful I was that the Kuna 1st Baptist bus used to pick you and JD up, starting you on a journey with the Lord that is lasting you an eternity.. Praise God for choosing to allow you to have such a wonderful testimony for him. Thank you for all you are, all you did, and allowing me to be a small part in your life...

To Dottie & family;
What we remember about Darrel was a slim, tall kid with a big smile. We would often get together as families do and while the adults talked about whatever adults talk about. Darrel, my brother Greg and I would scamper off to do what kids do. Darrel was a few years younger than we were but that sure didn't stop him from keeping up with us. He would be one who had the adventure planned and we would end up following in his footsteps. I remember when he and his family came for a visit to our little ranch in Idaho. Darrel had mostly been what we called a "city kid" but he quickly took to the farm life. He was a pretty good horseback rider for a greenhorn! The fun we had together will always be wonderful memories that our family will share and we will always remember that smile of his. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Dottie-we love you

I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone that took the time to express words of condolences. I never realized until now how many people or friends he had developed in his lifetime. It is so humbling to realize how many lives Darrel touched. I am sorry I haven't responded before now and hope you do understand why. I, too, miss his kisses, humor and his craving for my biscuits. I know that he is with Jesus Christ our Savior and having a great time with no seizures, headaches and sadness or depression. We as his family, friends, and loved ones are the ones suffering and missing him. Thank you for the words of encouragement. Believe me when I say they mean so very much. The gestures of kindness, flowers, plants, donations, phone calls and all of the assistance we had in searching for my precious son, child and baby. I miss all of his phone calls, visits and silly ways of life. Thank you Mr Darrel R Jordan Jr for a fantastic 32 years. Rest in peace my darling, no more suffering and now you can dance with Jesus til I see you again and we will dance again my love. Your mother Dottie Jordan.

We met Darrel as a young boy when our daughter Melody and her family moved across the street from the Jordan family. He was often there visiting when we were. He was a sweet little boy. We also enjoyed Darrel at Lake Hazel Church when we began attending. He was always very nice and good company. It saddens us to hear of his passing; though we know he is with his Savior Jesus. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dottie and her Family.

Darrel and I were good friends for a couple of years before he left for Israel... I will miss him. He had such a wonderful spirit. Darrel's friendly welcoming smile, easy laugh and genuine interest in everyone he communicated with, his love of the Lord Jesus, his friendship, and thoughtfulness toward others (even during his trials) all the lives he touched; ALL- will be a tribute to him.
Darrel came into the Neary family's life in 1982 when we moved across the street from his family. A sweet and friendly boy always welcome in our home. We attended the same church and we often rode together to Awanas and youth group activities. We were fortunate enough to share some special times: he was at birthday parties, we were at Darrel's graduation, his going away party before Israel, his wedding- and other times of fellowship with him & his Friends from Western Baptist College. We had lunch and some coffee get-togethers.
I believe Darrel was 14 or 15 yr.s old when I had the honor of listening to him pray a prayer to ask forgiveness for his sins and accept Christ as his Savior. It was after youth group one evening. In the car ride home Darrel told me he wanted to know Jesus and know he was going to Heaven. We stopped right there and prayed. And from that day forward- I witnessed his growth in a closer walk with God- living a life for Christ.
We love Darrel - he will always be thought of as a part of our family. We know he loves us. He will be SORELY missed-until that day we see him again.
We love you Dottie, Beth, Kurtis- all the family. We hope you can take some comfort from knowing how much Darrel loves you . Knowing too that our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you. Also from knowing Darrel touched many lives and packed so much living into his over 32 years.(I don't even think he realized- but will now know how many lives he touched- and be shining down that awesome smile on us all). He knows the loving face of his Lord Jesus; firsthand. He is in the most wonderful and loving arms of all.
(We have a standing date on Aug. 28th 2007- to share our lives & love of Darrel).

I met Darrell several years ago at my church. I was going thru a divorce and Darrell really reached out to my son Jeremy. We lost touch over the years, until last summer when we ran into each other at the Boise library. Eventually he and Jeremy reconnected, and had been getting together and fellowshipping. Darrell was such a kind loving person. I will miss him coming over to the house. Like someone else said, he does take after his Mom, Dottie, whom I just met. My tears, and prayers go out to her and the family. He is truly dancing with Jesus!!!

I grew up with Darrel. We used to car pool to school. Darrel and I attended the christian teen group (Young Life) in high school.
It is comforting to know that he kept serving the Lord and that he is with him now. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.

My sympathy goes out to the family! All of you are in our hearts and prayers. Darrel was such a special person in everyway. He always had a smile and treasured the word of the lord. Darrel was a perfect example of what it means to be a christian. Darrel never once judged anyone on there walk to the lord, that I cherished the most about him. Darrel was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life time, I am sure he got that from his mom. She is the same way. Darrel taught me alot about life. He is missed and will never be forgotten! Dottie my heart goes out to you and your family. We are all there for you all! We love all of you. I just have to add, if it wasn't for Darrel I wouldn't be so addicted to coffee-that I thank him for. In gods Love the Schulers

Just a note: I met Darrel in 1988-89. He was a wonderful person and made me feel that life with God in it was special. He had a special way about him and a dedication to God that most people don't have. He taught me what it is to believe in something, and to go after it. We leaned on each other when we were weak and strenghthened each other when we were down; he was my rock up until the day I married and moved away. Since then I lost touch with him. When I learned of this tragedy; it brought to mind the rememberances of my youth and the friendship that Darrel and I shared. I'm sorry for your loss Dottie, he was special. Take heart that he is back in Heavenly Fathers arms, and will watch over you. I am sad, knowing that he is not here with us, and will look fondly on the memories I have of him.
PS- I wish I would have been working the day he filed his bike stolen. I would have liked to have reconnected and said hi.

Darrel was a toddler when your family opened your home to Mike and me. We cherish and are thankful for those memories always. Know we are there for you in your time of heartache. We may live far apart, but you are always in our heart.
Much love.

I never met Darrel personally, but I have known his mother, Dottie for many years. I know that her son would be a reflection of her. He would be a friend to all just like his mother Dottie is to everyone she meets. Dottie, I am sorry for your loss and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Your friend
